Artist Statement

Rain washes away the impurity. Rain quenches the earth. Rain sometimes causes catastrophe but nevertheless, it is an important element of nature.
Growing up, rain was so much part of my life. In fact, numerous childhood memories, happy and sad, are linked to the weather condition at the time the various events occurred.
After living in Southern California for eight years though, looking back at memorable events that happened in the duration, so much of them coincide with warm sunny days.
Quite often, I catch myself longing for rainy days. I held this obsession toward rain for a few years now and finally able to exhibit the collection of artworks that is inspired by rain.
